"Forgiveness is the screwdriver we use to pry open our hearts.
For nearly twenty years I have used knitting as a metaphor to create complex forms to discuss complex issues. My work transforms knitting, a traditional woman’s craft, into a metaphor that expands the feminist tenants of liberation, diversity & justice."

a new installation project
For The Red Lotus Installation two chairs will sit inside of a loosely knit spiral of hemp yarn that hangs from the ceiling. Visitors will be invited to enter and sit together in the enclosing. One will serve as The Speaker and the other as The Silent Listener. The Speaker will be able to say anything, think aloud, or share a secret without censorship. The Silent Listener will not respond; they will serve as a compassionate witness free of judgment. Instead, The Listener will silently repeat the Buddhist Metta practice, “May you know peace, may you be happy, may you be free from all pain and suffering.”
